JTS Taps Stanford's Arnold Eisen

A Jewish Theological Seminary trustee described the head of Stanford's Jewish Studies program to me as "open, but unwilling to compromise on halacha." As Shmuel Rosner blogs on a site devoted to tracking the future of the JTS, the rabbinate itself absorbs a blow with this appointment.
