This press survey has a link to a translation of the Sueddeutsche Zeitungarticle discussed earlier ("Pallywood"). HR Watch has long lost its credibilty. Ever since they called Operation Defensive Shield a "massacre" (it was nothing of the sort), I find it hard to regard them as impartial.
You do not have to be fundamentally anti-Israel to have been rather dubious at the sudden change of story by the IDF in this case. I wrote about it and took the view that states lie, and Israel is just a state... and as this all looks fishy, it is probably a lie
However as it turns out, it looks like the revised IDF version (i.e. retracting acceptance of the blame) probably *WAS* justified, so I said as much in the comment section of my article. But I still think that it did look very fishy and so do not feel bad for assuming the worst even though it turned out I was wrong in this case.
