The War of the Missiles

A Wounded Soldier Being Evacuated Near Avivim

Operations on the ground have long begun, with thousands of IDF troops in the theater. The Hizbullah is proving to be a smart and determined enemy. The IDF has taken a number of casualties. But it looks like the katyushot are letting up a bit. The main aim of the operation is to root out the many Hizbullah positions in southern Lebanon, which involves destroying a vast network of tunnels. An acquaintance of mine, Prof. Ra'anan Boustan, observed that this war does not have a name yet. He is pushing the moniker מלחמת הטילים (The War of the Missiles).

Hello Amos,

the war of missiles could be a name for the moment, but there could be also many other names ...
Behind the missiles are people and in the people are thoughts an then we have to ask who is influenting their thoughts (and hearts). I`ll call this war a war of spirits - as each war.

PS: what do you think about Zecharia 12,2? "...I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all people round about, ..." (thats already the case with neighbours of israel)
and in vers 3 "...I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people; all that burden themselve with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. (I belief this prophecy will come to pass soon - there is already a cry for the UNITED Nations or as many politians are asking at tv "where is the world?" (to help against Israel).
In Vers 10 it is written about the Holy Spirit who opens eyes and changes hearts in a mighty way; this will be a changing day (probably at a יום כפור Jom Kippūr) "...and I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son..."

I also belief in big feasts of tabernacles (it is written in Zacharia 14, 16: "And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations wich came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles")

I belief it will be peace on earth one day :-)

Shalom
